Additionally, we recently expanded We also are expanding our manufacturing capabilities at our a new facility to grow our core business that supporting our clients needs for parts related to DC motor rebuilds, appliances and other typically dielectric and / thermal needs.
*Position Description:* We currently have an opening for an exempt position that will be responsible for all company purchases and the establishment of supporting supply chains.
This position requires strong negotiations skillsl and provides the opportunity to vet and redesign the procurement processes and inventory systems currently in place.
The ideal candidate should possess expertise and familiarity with one of the following industries: automotive, engineered products, or manufacturing.
The role will be based at our office in City Center - Newport News, VA.
This highly visible position requires an individual who can think creatively, is a natural born leader, and is not afraid to confront and resolve critical issues personally and in a collaborative environment.

*Position Responsibilities entail:* The desired candidate for this role will have experience in sourcing, purchasing, supply chain, logistics, and administration.
*Sourcing:* * Maintains key supplier and freight handler relationships.
* Maintains database of alternative and current suppliers, and sources.
* Identifies and implements supplier metrics based upon quality and contract specifications.
* Anticipates socio-economic and political impacts to sourcing and freight with a heavy emphasis on India, Chinese and Japanese sources.
* Obtains material samples for testing of key raw materials.
*Purchasing:* * Responsible for all purchase decisions, including capital expenditure and supplies.
* Anticipates critical lead times to ensure the timely receipt of raw materials and finished goods.
* Creates and maintains purchasing schedule for manufacturing floor raw-material inputs.
* Determines purchase order policies, quantities, and duration.
* Anticipates client demand and creates purchasing schedule to maintain finished goods inventory.
* Negotiates purchase prices and terms with vendors.
* Pursues cost savings, such as economies of scale and logistics partnering/scaling.
* Documents and communicates non-conformities and resolves timely.
* Enforces contract compliance with suppliers and freight handlers.
*Supply Chain and Logistics:* * Tracks inbound air and sea shipments.
* Coordinates and negotiates with custom house brokers.
* Tracks customer sales orders to anticipate shipping schedule.
* Works with Production Managers on input needs and trends.
* Creates and publishes weekly inbound receiving schedule.
*Adminstration:* * Manages Inventory, Shipping and Receiving functions.
* Works with Accounting Team to ensure contract compliance, purchase order accuracy and projected spend forecast.
* Works with Accounting Team to forecast CAPEX needs and budget.
* Maintains constant communication with team related to supply challenges and price changes.
* Maintains record of communications with external and internal clients.
* Periodic reporting related to areas of responsibility.
* Maintains detailed records of shipments and inventory movements.
* Participates in periodic audit of responsibilities.
* Participates in external client audits related to quality and sourcing.
* Serve as support and backup for Shipping, Receiving and Inventory.
* Attend trade and product shows.
* Other tasks as assigned.
*Skills and Experience: * * BA in Purchasing, SCM, Accounting or relevant experience.
* Significant experience with overseas procurement and negotiation of pricing and agreements.
* Strong understanding of cost accounting principles related to areas of responsibility.
* The ability to work independently and in teams.
* Impeccable time management skills.
* Excellent personnel management and communication skills.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills * Proficiency in ERP and Warehouse Management systems.
* Familiarity with Quality Control processes and inspections.
* Familiarity with ISO Certification and Compliance * Proficiency in Office applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel & Power Point * Must be able to lift 70lbs reliably and safely.
* Certified and experienced forklift operator.
