The Role Researches, plans, designs and develops mechanical products and systems such as instruments, controls, robots, engines, machines and mechanical, thermal hydraulic or heat transfer systems for production, transmission, measurement, and use of energy.
Applies research to the planning, design, development, and testing of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems, instruments, controls, engines, and/or machines.
Responsibilities: Serve in the capacity of Re-Entry Control (REC) certifier.
Aid in the establishment of a formal training and qualification program for Quality Assurance Supervisor (QAS).
Qualify as QAS and perform Objective Quality Evidence (OQE) reviews.
Provide assistance formulating responses to Special Emphasis Problem Resolution Sheets (SEPRS).
Provide direct assistance to the SUBSAFE Program Director (SSPD) by ensuring that training adequately supports personnel involved in Special Emphasis work and certification processes.
Maintain a formal method for conducting reviews of REC packages.
Ability to obtain a Clearance is required.
Must Have Associate's Degree and 6 years of relevant experience One of the following may be used as equivalent to Associate's Degree to meet minimum qualifications: NNS Apprentice School graduate Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate High School/GED and 2 years of related Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience High School/GED and 4 years of non-related Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience Nice to Have Technical knowledge of SUBSAFE program, Tech Pub 1688, TP-278, or MC-1 is a plus.
Experience with DDMS, SAP, QUAAD, ATIS, MQS, ERS and SWiMS knowledge is a plus.
The candidate should be an effective communicator.
Submarine Engineering (Sub-E) experience is a plus.
Previous Fleet Support craft or foreman experience is a plus.
Previous NAVSEA and SUPSHIP audit support experience is preferred.
