Posted Date: 01/16/2024 Salary Range: $63,700 - $100,600 (TECH III) Work Location Type: * Dedicated Working 100% on-site* What your job will be like: The Hall C team is seeking a motivated technical staff member to join our team to play a vital role in the installation, running and maintenance of the vast array of equipment required to run experiments in Hall C.
Working from minimal verbal, written, and graphic instructions, the incumbent primary duty is to provide technical/mechanical support on all aspects in the installation of systems and equipment related to the Jefferson Lab Physics division experimental program and mission.
Primarily working under minimum supervision on the Hall C infrastructure plus the setup and decommissioning of Hall C experiments.
This position requires periods of on call support and can require some overtime or shift work.

Work on all mechanical aspects in the installation and decommissioning of experimental setup in Hall C.
Assist with the operational readiness of Hall C during experiments.
This includes the day to day monitoring, troubleshooting, maintenance including being on call in rotation.
Become familiar with the Hall C vacuum, cryogenic and controls systems and their operation.
Must become knowledgeable in shut down and restart procedures of vacuum, LCW and Hall C infrastructure equipment.
Work with machine tools (milling machine, Lathe, drill press, etc.
) manufacturing parts from various materials of drawings, sketches or verbal instructions.
Complete fabrication and TIG, Stick or MIG welding of moderately complex small to large equipment as requested by users and designers.
Procure and fitting/assembling parts for beam line arrangements, vacuum component and LCW systems.
Operate Hall C material handling equipment, cranes, forklifts, trucks and trailers and work platforms.
Will occasionally be assigned to lead individual projects, and communicating with others groups such as users and designers independently to project completion Qualifications we require: Education and Experience: HS degree 9 years relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience Experience/workinging knowledge of electro mechanical equipment, LCW system, infrastructure (fans A/C’s, PSS etc.
), grout and concrete work (anchoring, cutting, grinding), pressure washing and coating.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Ability to multiple task, follow written and verbal instructions and work independently and or in a team environment Ability to communicate verbally and in writing Must be proficient with hand and power tools Must be skilled on general machine shop equipment, such as milling machines, lathe, saws and brake press Proficient in crane, forklift, work platform and Machine tool operation Ability to perform some TIG, Stick and/or MIG welding Must have some experience with Microsoft office Knowledge,Skills, Abilities Desired: Knowledge of cryogenics and Vacuum technology is desirable About Jefferson Lab Join a community with a common purpose of solving the most challenging scientific and engineering problems of our time.
