Overview
The Foundation Development Associate works under the direction of the Foundation Services Manager to administer all processes related to receiving, logging and deposit of gifts through all avenues (mail, online, in person), provide accurate and timely updates to the donor management system with various donor information, create timely acknowledgment and tax receipting of gifts and utilizes the utmost discretion working with highly sensitive information.
The Foundation Development Associate will assist with stewardship activities such as Champion of Caring Nomination acknowledgments, "In Memory of" and "In Honor of" gift acknowledgments and other donor recognition, and creating various donor lists/reports for mailings and other stewardship needs.
Additionally, serves as the timekeeper and office coordinator.
Will take on a wide range of activities for our nonprofit organization, ensuring that the office is well-supplied and maintained.
What you will do
Management of system wide gift acceptance to include the timely and accurate logging of gifts received through all channels (mail, online, in-person) and prompt deposit of donations.
Completes pledge and cash logs that inform gift processing and financial reconciliation.
Coordination and production of the Foundation's gift receipting process, including acknowledgment letters, "In Memory of" and "In Honor of" letters and "In Gratitude of" letters.
Coordination of Champion of Caring nomination notifications and other stewardship activities such as mailings for birthdays and special occasions, and coordination of donor recognition materials for events and facilities.
Provides support and assistance in donor management record keeping in database to include creating donor records, updating and scanning donor information, inputting tributes, etc.
Provides Stewardship support by creating various lists/reports needed for mailings and other projects.
Serves as the Foundation's timekeeper and departmental office coordinator providing support to staff when needed, ordering supplies, maintaining equipment, working with repair technicians, mail and delivery systems, and other office operational tasks.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelors Degree, in Finance or related field (Preferred)
Experience
2 years Organizational fundraising experience (Preferred)
Skills and Abilities
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills
Positive attitude and the ability to work effectively with all different types of people
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Knowledge of office technology and procedures
Familiarity with database functionality
