The Stocker works under the direction of the Project Manager and is responsible for preparing the store for the next day.
Must be able to obtain and maintain access to the military base.
The Commissary Stocker is responsible for stocking and ensuring that all delivery items make it of the pallet and into their designated spots.
What are my responsibilities? Consolidate and organize pallets from the delivery truck Transport product from the warehouse to the sales floor Drop/Stage product to its designated aisle and in its proper locations Replenish shelves, end caps and displays with missing products Rotate products on the shelves Check for and remove expired merchandise from shelves Place items on shelves Unload products from the delivery trucks Maintain a clean work area Observe company’s safety rules and guidelines Know the department and its products Consolidate and organize pallets from the delivery truck Transport product from the warehouse to the sales floor Drop/Stage product to its designated aisle and in its proper locations Replenish shelves, end caps and displays with missing products Rotate products on the shelves Check for and remove expired merchandise from shelves Place items on shelves Unload products from the delivery trucks Maintain a clean work area Observe company’s safety rules and guidelines Know the department and its products Comply with all Federal, State, and Local regulatory standards and procedures Ensure that applicable personal protective equipment is available, in proper operating condition, and used for each job performed Ensure that equipment is in safe operating condition and that all safe guards are in place Immediately report accident, incidents/near misses to Project Manager Perform any other duties as assigned.
What are the Qualifications and Educational Requirements? High School Degree or equivalent experience Previous grocery or foodservice experience to understand the workflow, customer service expectations, and how to stock and organize products effectively What Preferred Knowledge should I possess? Ability to understand verbal and written instructions and communication Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures Experience unloading shipments to properly handled products during the receiving process and ensuring that items are received in good condition Ability to lift and manipulate heavy objects Knowledge about how to properly mark and date all received shipments to maintain inventory accuracy and ensure that products are sold before they expire Knowledge about how to effectively organize small spaces to effectively fit many boxes and maximize space utilization and make the store look more organized and visually appealing What are the Required Skills/ Abilities for this position? As a Night Stocker, you will be required to perform physically demanding tasks on a regular basis.
These tasks include standing, walking, lifting heavy objects, and operating medium-weight equipment.
You will also be required to do a great deal of stretching and bending, often in awkward positions.
The physical demands of the job may require you to regularly reach with your hands and arms, as well as use your fingers, handle objects, and operate tools and controls.
It is important to note that the incumbent must be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
