Position Description : Safety and Occupational Health Specialist NMRLC - Navy Medical Readiness Logistics Command Cheatham Annex Naval Base 2023-59643 / 2024-63039 Looking for a Safety and Occupational Health Specialist position that includes working with experienced multi-functional logistics team supporting mission critical operations? Serco supports the US Navy Deployable Medical Systems and Material Management contract.
Our team maintains and manages Deployable Medical systems to ensure sailors are able to perform their missions successfully.
In this role, you will: Establish and execute the safety/environmental program to ensure compliance with Federal, State and local occupational safety and health regulations.
Outline and implement training programs about employee safety procedures and accident protection and prevention.
Develop and distribute educational materials, inspecting facilities Recommend corrections or additional precautions to ensure compliance to established regulations.
Have familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a Occupational Health field.
Qualifications: To be successful in this role, you will have: Bachelor’s degree in a Safety/Environmental related field.
5+ years 'of related experience working in an industrial setting with a strong working knowledge of environmental health and safety regulations, safe operating practices in a manufacturing environment and Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) enforcement of procedures and policies.
Possess experience in performing audits Possess strong problem solving and planning skills.
Possess proficiency in MS Office; Word, Excel, Power Point and database management.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance.
Additional desired experience & skills: 7+ Years of experience in workplace Health and Safety.
Preferred: Must be able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card for the Military Installation at the Cheatham Annex Naval Base where this position resides on a military installation or within a government facility which requires US Citizenship.
