The Role The NNS Quality Assurance team is seeking a manager to lead the Quality Material Investigation and Ship Certification team.
The team is responsible for investigating material issues across the enterprise.
The successful candidate will work with the value stream (e.
g.
, Supplier Quality, Engineering, Production Control and Warehouse teammates) to document and resolve material issues.
The team is responsible for the execution of the NNS Quality certification process.
Daily function to include: Managing the Brew List Liability system within SAP and communicating liabilities to programs/stakeholders Facilitate Quality’s certification actions Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements and influence change Must Have Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of applicable, progressive professional and/or supervisory work experience or Master's Degree and 4 years of relevant experience One of the following may be used as equivalent to Bachelor's Degree to meet minimum qualifications: NNS Apprentice School graduate Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate Associate's Degree or other formal 2 year program and 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience High School/GED and 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience High School/GED and 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant non-exempt experience Nice to Have Experience with material movement and control processes within NNS Familiarity with hull certification and Key Event Process Proficiency in SAP Ability to obtain a Clearance Why HII We build the world’s most powerful, survivable naval ships and defense technology solutions that safeguard our seas, sky, land, space and cyber.
