Job Purpose:
Human Resources: This position is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources office.
This includes the administration of human resources policies, procedures, and programs.
This position is responsible for the following functional areas: recruitment, orientation, employee relations, employee retention, and organizational development.
This position will work closely with the Controller, and other Department Managers and Supervisors.
Essential Functions:
Maintains the work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions.
Maintains the organization’s staff by establishing a recruiting, testing, and interviewing program; counseling managers on candidate selection; conducting exit interviews.
Conducts recruitment efforts for all exempt and nonexempt personnel.
Conducts new-employee orientations.
Scheduling management conferences with employees, hearing and resolving employee grievances, counseling employees and supervisors.
Maintains and enhances employee benefits programs and informs employees of benefits renewals and any changes, assists employees with benefit claims and applications.
Assists employees with FMLA, Short Term Disability, and other human resources programs; responsible for all FMLA required documentation.
Ensures legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resources federal and state requirements, conducting background checks, drug screenings, and other mandated prerequisites and maintaining records.
Maintains management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resources policies and procedures, administers various human resources plans and procedures for all company personnel, assists in development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains employee handbook.
Develops and maintains affirmative action program; files EEO-1 report annually, maintains other reports to conform to EEO regulations.
Maintains I-9 files, criminal background checks, Worker’s Compensation and required medical records of all employees, remaining compliant to all laws pertaining to these files.
Maintains human resource records by designing a filing and retrieval system; keeping past and current records as required by law.
Provides counseling and resource assistance in the areas of policy, benefits, training/development, performance issues.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree is required and 3-5 years of Human Resources experience
Excellent computer skills in a network environment.
Microsoft Office products experience preferred- Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
PHR/SPHR certification preferred
General knowledge of Human Resources practices and laws
Experience working with a diverse workforce
Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing; Effectively plan, organize and prioritize work
