The Role The Infrastructure and Innovation Director is responsible for the delivery of IT operations to include but not limited to the help desk, end point devices, network operations, mobility, servers and all IT infrastructure at Newport News Shipbuilding.
In addition, the candidate will lead an integrated and innovation portfolio focused on tightly coordinated initiatives with the Chief Transformation Office.
The candidate will have deep technical and business process knowledge, be a champion of digital transformation, and mentor a diverse group of employees to also transform the method in which IT operations, services and software are delivered.
Job Responsibilities Lead IT Operations managers and individual contributors , in their assigned area of responsibility to include safety of the workforce and the workplace, quality of work performed, efficiency and effectiveness of work being performed Be a champion for best practices and modern methods and tools in both deploying COTS products and developing software (e.
g.
DevSecOps, CI/CD, Agile, Cloud) Drive automation in all aspects of the software delivery process, including coding, testing and continuous deployment Establish and maintain necessary standards and processes Understand and adhere to all Sarbanes-Oxley requirements Work closely with stakeholders to drive business value and digital transformation Attract and retain exceptional talent Work in a way that is consistent with company values Build strong relationships internally and with peers across the industry Work closely with suppliers to drive and advocate for solutions that benefit the company and the A&D industry as a whole Must Have Bachelor’s degree plus a minimum of 10 years of applicable, progressive professional and/or supervisory work experience OR Master's degree and 8 years of relevant work experience.
