The Role E86 CVN Nuclear Propulsion - E86 Process Engineering Class Support Group is looking for a talented and dynamic Electrical Engineer 3 to support Build Authority reviews for the CVN78 Class Aircraft Carriers.
As a model-based engineer, you will play in a crucial role in the development and implementation of innovative solutions for designing, building and sustaining the most advanced aircraft carrier in the world.
These reviews are performed within a model based manufacturing environment, utilizing the legacy drawings as a guide.
Must Have Bachelor's Degree and 5 years of relevant exempt experience; Master’s Degree and 3 years of relevant professional experience; Ph.
D.
and 0 years of experience.
Newport News Shipbuilding requires a Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.
Nice to Have The ideal candidate will be able to do the following: Use TeamCenter, NX, SAP, and 1TOOL daily to complete assigned tasks Review Build Authority products Navigate Technical Authority products Understand/Read legacy CVN78 Class drawings Ensures Build Authority information provided within the VWI is consistent with the applicable Technical Authority documents Effectively communicate issues between the Lead Design Yard and Model-based processing Review engineering change documents for applicability and proper incorporation within the build authority documents Provide technical guidance on significant issues associated with BA reviews Communicate what information is needed to effectively convert the parent based 3D model into a visual work instruction Be proficient in design integration and modeling program utilization Provides training to entry level engineer Frequently use collaboration tools such as WebEx and Jabber Why HII We build the world’s most powerful, survivable naval ships and defense technology solutions that safeguard our seas, sky, land, space and cyber.
