Job Duties
The Deputy Clerk position is assigned operational responsibilities for the effective operation of Pre-Court/Data Entry functions in a high-volume office.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities – Prepares correspondence and court forms as well as entry of data into the JCMS (Juvenile Case Management System)
Ensures all court instructions are executed and legal papers prepared with accuracy and in accordance with appropriate policies
Ability to deliver a HIGH degree of tact and diplomacy for customer interaction in person and by phone to the public and interfacing agencies
Preparation of legal papers with accuracy and in accordance with appropriate policies, judicial instructions, and/or statutory regulations
Capable of meeting FREQUENT deadlines
Possess excellent verbal/written communication skills
Ability to work independently, while managing competing priorities; STRONG multitasking skills
Assessing fines and costs
Assuming additional responsibilities other than those primarily assigned to the position as required by management
Possess sound problem-solving skills
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent required; College degree preferred; possess and demonstrate knowledge and experience of the court judicial process
Additional Considerations
Demonstrate competence in areas of multi-tasking, retaining & applying knowledge of policy/procedures of the court and software applications.
