ASSISTANT COMMONWEALTH ATTORNEY

Position Summary: Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney The responsibilities for this position include prosecuting felonies and misdemeanors in the General District, Juvenile and Domestic Relations and Circuit Courts, as well as researching case law, responding to pre-trial motions, writing briefs, and handling any other assigned task as requested.
The attorney must be able to manage a heavy caseload.
Since this office is engaged in Community Prosecution, the attorney will also be working to build strong partnerships with law enforcement and the community.
Innovation, creativity, and an ability to work with all types of people are necessary.
Background check and admission to and good standing with the Virginia State Bar are required.
