· Remaining true to our Core Values of Accountability, Belonging, Creativity, Integrity, and Service Position Summary Assistant Field Hockey coaches are responsible for assisting the Head Coach in providing leadership and direction for a highly competitive NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) Division I athletic field hockey program.
Specific duties include but are not limited to: Observe and evaluate individual players’ performance and develop specific coaching strategies and skill development techniques for improvement.
Provide one on one or small group instruction in game strategies and techniques to prepare for competition.
Identify prospective student-athletes; maintain contact information on all recruits, coaches, schools, etc.
; and represent the University and Athletic Department at various functions and events.
Develop film/video game and practice files for analysis and to be used in technique assessment.
Order and maintain equipment; develop and confirm practice times for road games; track and manage the travel and equipment budget, etc.
Monitor study hall hours.
Conditions of Employment Must meet physical requirements for the job, including the ability to participate in and lead strenuous physical activities.
Must work nights and weekends.
Frequent overnight travel during the week and on weekends on a monthly basis throughout the year.
Prolonged periods of sitting and standing indoors and frequently exposed to outside weather conditions.
Yearly completion of NCAA compliance certification.
Current CPR certification or obtained within 6 months.
This is a 12-month position.
Restricted position subject to availability of funding.

Skills or competencies related to the sport, with emphasis on goalkeeping specialization/experience.
Demonstrated strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills, and attention to detail.
Demonstrated leadership abilities through prior collegiate playing and/or coaching experience.
Strong computer skills and the ability to utilize the latest advances in technology.
Video editing skills, particularly utilizing TeamXStream.
Preferred Qualifications Previous playing and/or coaching experience of the sport at the collegiate/international level.
Experience with the following platforms: Arms, PhotoShop.
Experience in managing social media platforms for information delivery, recruiting interest, and alumni relations.
Experience working with equipment staff for ordering purposes.
Is the position remote work eligible? Hybrid (works remotely at least 1 day per week but not full-time) Remote Work Disclaimer Remote work eligibility is not guaranteed and is subject to approval.
Employee eligibility depends on the likelihood of the employee succeeding in a remote work arrangement and the supervisor’s ability to manage remote workers.

Advertised Pay Range $42,000 to $$55,000 Advertised Pay Range Statement All hiring rates are commensurate with relevant experience up to the advertised amount considering internal alignment.
