Position Summary
Reporting to the Director of Student Transition Engagement Programs (STEP,) the Assistant Director helps to maintain and implement the curriculum and interventions around the scaffolded three-staged Find, Form, and Focus Your Experience (F3YE) Transition Series and, in conjunction with the Director, executes an assessment and evaluation strategy which informs a culturally significant approach to data-driven co-curricular design.
The Assistant Director provides information and services that support undergraduate students throughout their university experience via the Tribe Guide Checklist and the transition communication plan.
The position is part of a highly collaborative, student-oriented team environment, and will also supervise the Graduate Assistants for Undergraduate Student Transitions who work with the Transition Coaches charged with program development and individual peer coaching.

Required Qualifications
Master’s degree OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and or experience.
Experience (typically 2 -4 years) with new student orientation, campus transition, and/or university persistence/retention programs.
Working knowledge (typically 1 – 3 years) of community development, including program development, implementation, and evaluation.
Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Higher Education Administration, Student Affairs, College Student Personnel, Counseling, or a related field.
Experience working in an environment comprised of diverse students, families, and perspectives.
Experience supervising undergraduate and graduate students.
Experience collaborating with campus partners.
Demonstrated skills in team development and event management.
Working knowledge of VisualZen, Constant Contact, and/or other connected campus living, communication, and events technology.
