Bennett’s Creek Nursery is seeking a full-time Class B CDL driver to deliver plants and hard good materials in the local/regional area.
Most plant deliveries will be made in a 26 foot box truck.
When not delivering plants, you may be responsible for hauling mulch or other hard goods in one of our manual dump trucks.
Candidate must have a valid Virginia Driver's license, be 21+ years old have a clean driving record and High School diploma or GED.
Delivery drivers are required to roll racks of plants and slide trees to the rear of the truck and lower them on a liftgate.
For internal transfers to other BCN locations, drivers are required to assist unloading the truck with a forklift.
Drivers may also run errands and help with internal logistics to support the overall business operation.
Drivers are encouraged to assist with other projects around the nursery if they are not needed for driving.
These projects may include a need for mechanical skills, maintenance skills, experience with running heavy equipment or other tasks as needed.
( Extra projects are not required, we offer these to assist our drivers meet a 40 work week during our slow seasons, (summer and winter).
Our drivers must adhere to driver safety/compliance regulations, deliver plants on schedule and provide professional service to customers.
Drivers are home daily.
Minimum Requirements:

* Basic math and measurement skills
* Ability to read, write and speak English
* Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
* Proven customer service experience a plus
* One to two years past box truck and delivery driver experience preferred
* Must be in good health to pass a DOT physical.
* *Pass pre-employment testing.
