Responsibilities: - *CNC Programming*: Develop and write CNC programs using CAM software.
Translate engineering drawings, blueprints and specifications into machine instructions to produce accurate and high-quality parts.
Utilize all relevant features within the machine and CAM software to maximize production efficiency.
Proficiency with both lathes and mills required.
*Machine Setup*: Design, model and implement work and tool holding, including selecting cutting tools, fixtures, and work holding devices.
Load programs, tooling, and materials into the machine, and ensure proper alignment and calibration for precise machining operations.
*Tool Selection and Optimization*: Determine the appropriate cutting tools, feeds, speeds, and machining strategies for each job.
Optimize tool paths and machining parameters to maximize efficiency, minimize cycle times, and achieve desired part quality.
*Quality Control: * Utilize machine probing cycles to perform in-process inspections and measurements to verify dimensional accuracy and adherence to specifications.
Make necessary adjustments and modifications to programs or machine settings to ensure compliance with quality requirements.
Utilize probe cycles to monitor for broken or worn tools.
*Troubleshooting: * Identify and troubleshoot issues related to machine performance, tooling or program execution.
Implement corrective actions, such as tool changes, program modifications, or machine adjustments to resolve problems and maintain production flow.
*Documentation*: Maintain accurate records of programs, tooling setups, and machining parameters.
Update and revise programs as necessary to incorporate process improvements, design changes, or customer requirements.
*Safety Compliance:* Adhere to all safety guidelines, protocols, and procedures to minimize risks and ensure a safe working environment.
Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safe work practices.
*Collaboration and Communication:* Collaborate with Management, engineers and machinists to optimize machining processes, troubleshoot issues, and provide feedback on design feasibility or process improvements.
Communicate effectively to convey technical information and instructions.
*Qualifications:* - *Education and Experience:* high school diploma or equivalent.
Additional technical education or certification in machining, CNC programming, or a related field is preferred.
Proven experience as a machine shop programmer or CNC machinist.
*CNC Programming Skills: *Proficiency in MasterCAM 2023+ is required.
Familiarity with Fanuc controls is required.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications for programming purposes.
*Machining Knowledge: * Strong understanding of machining processes, including milling, turning, drilling, and tooling concepts.
Familiarity with various CNC machine types, controls, and machining operations.
Technical Proficiency: Ability to operate and set up CNC machines, including knowledge of tooling selection, workpiece setup, and machine calibration.
Familiarity with measuring instruments and quality control techniques.
*Problem-Solving Abilities:* Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot machining issues.
Capacity to analyze complex problems, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
*Attention to Detail:* Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality machined parts.
Ability to interpret technical specifications accurately and ensure precise machining operations.
*Communication Skills:* Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively and convey technical information and instructions clearly and concisely.
