*PURPOSE*
The Childcare Attendant has the primary responsibility to care for and interact with infants, toddlers and children, ages 6 weeks to 5 years, in a loving and positive manner.
*EXPECTATIONS*
* Be a person of integrity, character and a life of worship to the Triune God
* Functional knowledge of the Great Commission that Christ has given to His Church
* Work collaboratively with the team that is assembled at King of Glory
* Ability to deal effectively with the public at large and be a “face” of King of Glory’s mission, vision, and values is required
* Uphold the policies and procedures as outlined in the Policy Governance manual and the Operations Manual of the Congregation
*POSITION REQUIREMENTS*
* Demonstrate a genuine love for children
* Able to connect and play with infants, toddlers and children .
* Self-starter, initiative and positive attitude
* Should exhibit strong customer service skills with adults and children and have the ability to remain professional in difficult situations
* Minimum of High School Diploma or GED and 1-3 years of experience in a related field
* Regular timely attendance during stated or negotiated hours
* Must be available to work Wednesday Morning, Wednesday Evening and Sunday Mornings
* Available to work non-traditional hours such as nights and weekends as needed
* Available for emergencies
* Must possess the ability and knowledge to properly change diapers and provide toilet assistance
* CPR/First aid certification required (Employer will provide if needed)
* Possess knowledge and ability to properly clean and sanitize toys and tables
* Practices Christian faith and knowledge of faith community dynamics
* Acceptable background checks for criminal and credit history are required
*RELATIONSHIPS*
* Reports to the Childcare Coordinator
* Interacts with children, members, attendees, visitors, and the community at large
*RESPONSIBILITIES*
* Play and interact with infants, toddlers and children in a positive and loving manner
* Check children regularly for soiled diapers and change as needed
* Provide toilet assistance to children as needed
* Provide snacks and drinks to children
* Pick-up and organize toys before and after each service
* Ensure nursery remains clean at all times
* Clean and sanitize toys and tables
* Identify and report potential hazards to Childcare Coordinator
* Adhere to Nursery polices and procedures at all times
* Keep nursery binder updated
* Assist first time parents with nursery registration forms as needed
* Utilize pager system as needed
* Inventory snacks at end of shifts on Sunday and submit refill requests in writing to Childcare coordinator
