EDIT: PLEASE TEXT ME ASKING FOR PICTURES FOR SOME REASON IT KEPT SAYING MY STORAGE WAS FULL
Selling my ls3 swapped c5 corvette.
I have owned this car since 2017.
The swap was completed in late 2020 and the motor has roughly 10,000 miles on it.
All of the work and tune was done professionally by a locally renowned speed shop in toano Virginia and I have all of the paper work and receipts.
The short of it is that it is a completely rebuilt 6.
2l aluminum ls3 with a stage 3 Brian Tooley cam, ported and polished ls3 heads and a complete upper and lower end rebuild with all high quality parts.
It also has an MGW short throw shifter.
Again I have all of the receipts and will be uploading pictures later.
It is simply too much to list.
The car makes 500 horsepower at the wheels and will pull nearly all the way to 7800rpm.
The car also has a set of new Michelin PS4s and Hotchkiss sway bars.
There is far more I have forgotten that has been upgraded than I have listed.
The car is extremely extremely fast and will blow away a new c8 on a highway pull.
Every oil change and all regular maintenance it has ever had
has been done by the same shop that built the car.
I love this car but priorities in my life have changed and I can’t justify owning it any longer and want to use the money to invest in something my whole family can enjoy together at the same time.
Please call me or text with any questions.
I typically do not respond to calls or texts between 8pm-4am but feel free to try me.
A few quirks and cons about the car and the reason I’m selling it for a relatively low price considering how much money has gone into the car.
I am simply just going to list them in a bullet point fashion but bare in mind that this motor was built with expert level knowledge by guys with decades of experience none of the issues with this vehicle hinge on any mechanical issue but with the simple fact that it is a 24 year old GM car with a motor that isn’t supposed to be in it.
I have daily driven this car for months at a time and had so much fun that these issues didn’t bother me enough to care.
If you are looking for a corvette to take back to your retirement home or golf club and drive around peacefully and quietly then this is not the car for you.
It is LOUD and extremely extremely rowdy.
If you are not a driving enthusiast I may even say it is bordering on uncomfortable and unpleasant to drive.
With that said here are the quirks.
-Security glitch with c5 corvette causing “wait 10 seconds remove key” message will appear.
If you do not do this the car will not go past 2mph before cutting fuel to the engine.
This you will have to do before nearly every start up.
After that the car runs as normal.
-if the car has not come to temperature yet or under sudden temperature changes a message will appear saying “reduced engine power” this will cut power to the motor and the ignition will need to be turned to the off position, wait a few seconds for code to clear and then started back up.
After this the error will go away and the car will run as normal.
This is by far the most annoying problem the car has and could probably be fixed permanently by a tuner.
This happens to me usually only it the winter on first start up or if the weather changes drastically throughout the day.
-the paint is not the prettiest, the clear coat is nearly completely gone and one side of the car is painted with nearly new paint.
This happened to me in 2019 before the swap and all the work was done.
I was driving down i64 East and had to squeeze between a large piece of construction debris and a Jersey wall.
It left an inch tall scrape down the length of the car after which my insurance paid to have it painted on the damaged side.
-the AC is currently not working.
It worked all the way until the end of last summer and now the button for AC doesn’t engage the compressor.
It holds a charge just fine and is mechanically sound but the button does nothing when pressed.
-the interior is decent but there are a few cracks in the passenger side seat where your butt goes.
Again 24 year old GM “leather”.
I own the car outright with no liens.
I will not accept any offers without you first seeing the car in person.
I have no problem with accepting a check if you are going to be getting financing from your bank or credit union.
I will not accept payment plans.
I will accept Cash, silver, gold, or certified loan check from a bank/credit union as payment only.
I may be willing to accept a partial cash + trade if what you have is interesting or worth something.
I will get back to you first thing in the morning after receiving your message or voice mail.
