Job Description
Newport News Shipbuilding offers internships which allow students to gain experience in technical or administrative positions and provide the opportunity to gain experience in their field of study as well as an understanding of our business.
This opportunity could possibly lead to future full time employment but is not guaranteed.
Some engineering, technical, and waterfront positions may require the ability to physically access a wide variety of work sites, including those aboard ships under various stages of construction or overhaul, including the use of vertical and inclined ladders, and may involve limited kneeling, stooping, standing, etc.
Basic Qualifications
Newport News Shipbuilding will be offering 2024 summer internships to students majoring in bachelor or master’s degree programs including Business, Accounting, Supply Chain, Computer Science, Engineering, and Information Technology.
Students will have the opportunity to work 40 hours a week for 10 consecutive weeks during the summer months on a variety of assignments related to their major.

Applicants must meet the following criteria in order to qualify:
This requisition is for candidates with a documented disability
Must be enrolled in a 4-year college/university (or 2+2 program) or master's degree programs for Fall 2024
Engineering majors must be ABET-accredited
Cumulative GPA of 2.
5 or greater
