Parent & Family Programs welcome parents and families to the Tribe; create opportunities for meaningful engagement with the university; connect parents and families with one another; inform and educate parents and families about resources, critical issues, and topics relevant to student success.
Vision: Cultivate a lifelong relationship among families and William & Mary that supports and encourages student success.
Position Summary The Coordinator of Parent & Family Programs supports the Director with the day-to-day operations of Parent & Family Programs and the creation of an engaging environment that welcomes all parents and families to William & Mary.
The Coordinator is an active participant in the implementation of university-wide programs such as Parent & Family Orientation and Family Weekend.
Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to: Provide timely responses and assistance to internal and external constituents of the department.
Meet with students and provide referrals to appropriate academic and related resources.
Create and maintain an effective way to track the progress of all programs and keep leadership apprised of upcoming deadlines.
Manage the online community of undergraduate family members including developing internal procedures for social media posts and responding to parent/family inquiries.
Manage data entry, contact lists, and calendars for the office.
Monitor and reconcile the unit’s budget monthly.
Manage procurement of supplies using the Buywm system if necessary Required Qualifications High school graduate or equivalent.
Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse constituency in a fast-paced work environment.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Experience with Microsoft products including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize and multi-task.
Demonstrated experience working independently and as a part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications A bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university, or comparable education and experience.
Experience in higher education, working directly with parents and/or students.
Demonstrated high-level administrative experience which includes advanced computer skills and demonstrated experience with office software, social media platforms, texting, and email applications including Banner, Qualtrics, Constant Contact, Cascade, QLIK, Advocate, and Touchnet.
Advertised Pay Range Up to $38,500, commensurate with experience.
