YEAR-ROUND UNDERGRADUATE STUDENT INTERN POSITION

00 (hourly rate determined by number of completed credit hours) Work Location Type: Hybrid 60% on-site (combination of on-site and remote work based on business needs, Only local applicants will be considered) What your role will be like: The student intern in the Theory Center will provide administrative assistance by coordinating meetings, compiling lists, serving as a point of contact for visitors, and maintaining a record of visitors.
In this role, you will: Provide administrative support to coordinate internal meetings, interviews, workshops, and seminars at the Theory Center.
Compile and update the lists of theory publications and invited talks, workshops organized, and awards received.
Provide the point of contact for visitors and external inquiries to the Theory Center and direct them to proper personnel in the Division.
Maintain the record of people at the Theory Center including staff, postdocs, students, and visitors, and routinely update the Theory webpage to reflect current people at the Theory Center including all visitors.
Perform all tasks in a secure, safe and environmentally responsible manner in accordance with the JLab's security and EH&S policies.
Qualifications We Require: Required Skills: Understanding general library functions and terminology.
Experience in research-related tasks: researching, retrieving and providing results to requestor.
Understanding the basic premise of inventory.
General understanding of records and information management and archives.
Experience with institutional history projects.
Familiarity with document management and web publishing platforms.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Word), Microsoft 365.
Ability to set priorities and meet deadlines independently and collaboratively.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Excellent computer and technical skills and ability to learn new technologies.
Ability to climb ladders and lift and shelve boxes weighing up to 45 pounds.
Must be capable of working collegially with a diverse group of scientific and administrative staff, and students on a daily basis.
Ability to document business processes.
Education: Full-time college student pursuing a degree in Library or Information Science (or closely related degree), Archival Studies or History with a GPA of 2.
5 or higher.
